On the day I finished The Canine Connection by Betsy Hearne (who also wrote the fantastic Wishes, Kisses & Pigs) my wife and kids let me know they'd like it if we stopped by our local animal shelter and considered adopting a second dog. Turning down a dog after reading The Canine Connection would be like saying no to a toasted marshmallow on a camping trip. It's possible, but not likely. So allow me to introduce Skipper who will be joining our household in the coming week! In genteel company, we call him a golden retriever/cocker spaniel/sheltie/collie mix. In real life, we call him one fine mutt.
