What a week! Defining Dulcie received a big batch of great reviews including a starred review in Publishers Weekly, a starred review in School Library Journal, and a starred review in KLIATT. The journal VOYA (Voice of Youth Advocates) gave Dulcie their highest marks: 5Q+5P. A perfect 10! According to VOYA’s definition, 5Q (Q for quality) means that it is “hard to imagine it being better written.” And 5P (P for Popularity) means that “every young adult who reads was dying to read it yesterday.” I don’t know what to say. Click here to visit my new Defining Dulcie review page and read the reviews for yourself. Really. Go do it now! I’ll wait….
… are you back? Pretty amazing, huh?! I also made some forward motion on the novel-in-progress, heard from friend and local writer Marie Lamba that she’s signed a 2-book deal with Random House for her YA novels (WOW! CONGRATULATIONS, Marie!), completed (at least almost) revisions on a short story, had several fun conversations with the best editor in the world (mine), received several nice emails from writers whose work I love (how cool is that?!?!), worked a little more on the Dulcie publicity campaign with help from the very super Allison (the same super Penguin publicist who is working with THIS AUTHOR! WOW!!!!) And I didn’t even get to the best part of the week yet. Here it is: WE’RE GETTING A DOG!!
We are adopting a Golden Retriever named Patch! Patch the Dog will be moving to our house the first week of April. Click here to see our dog! Definitely a gold star week!
